Inspired by the chic window dressing seen in traditional French cafes, cafe style shutters cover only the bottom half of your window allowing unfiltered light to flood your room, whilst maintaining privacy.
What Are Cafe Style Shutters?
Cafe, or half height, shutters are a stylish addition to many of our customers homes where light is priority, but an element of privacy is still required. Open and close the panels and operate the louvres as you would our full height shutters to suit your needs throughout the day.
Although typically measured to the halfway point of your window, which makes them the perfect shutter style for sash windows, the height of our cafe shutters are measured completely bespoke to your windows. Bay windows are a great example of this where shutters can be measured up till the fanlight break, giving almost full privacy but allowing unobstructed light to filter through.
Aesthetically, cafe style shutters are one of our most stylish solutions and can really add the finishing touches to more traditional properties such as Victorian or Edwardian homes, although they are suitable for any property type!
Cafe style shutters also make a great partner with curtains, particularly for bedrooms where a certain level of darkness is required at night and some privacy during the day. WOODEN CAFE STYLE SHUTTERS
Solid hardwood is the most suitable material for cafe style shutters due to its strength, durability and finish. Given the top of the panel is visible, the finish needs to be smooth and faultless and this can be difficult to achieve with cheaper materials such as MDF.
Available in the same beautiful paints and stains as all our shutter styles as well as a range of louvre sizes, hinges and louvre mechanism options, you can really create a versatile and beautiful window styling solution.
PVC CAFE STYLE SHUTTERS
Cafe style shutters make a great addition to bathrooms given the desire for an element of privacy and when frosted windows are not quite cutting it!
